This film is about a woman, Mary, who is pregnant and living with her sister. Mary has a loving husband and an interesting job as a day care teacher. Things seem to be going well for her, she's just been accepted into college, but something goes terribly wrong. Mary learns that the father from the baby is from the sperm bank she originally donated to because it was anonymous. She confronts him and he admits it's true after years of denying it. They discuss what they should do. He wants to get back together and raise the baby, but Mary doesn't seem interested. Mary goes to the doctor only to find out that she is in fact not pregnant, even though she had all the symptoms. She's devastated. She vows not to tell anyone about this until after she goes back home to her husband in Oregon, who still thinks she is pregnant. Mary starts cooking cooking for her sister and her family for Thanksgiving dinner. Her sister's son comes home with his long-distance girlfriend, who reveals that they couldn't have children either and that they're trying something new called sperm donation. The son reveals that his girlfriend is the daughter of Mary's ex-boyfriend. Mary feels horrible, but tries to keep it together for the dinner. Her sister's husband tells her that she's getting too thin, but still seems oblivious to her true situation. The next day Mary wakes up and gets into an argument with her sister and she leaves. She drives across country and ends up in a small town and meets a man and falls in love with him after their first date. They begin spending more time together and they want to move forward with planning a future together, but something is holding Mary back from telling him the truth about why she really came there. The man's daughter comes to visit and Mary meets her, but she doesn't say anything about being the daughter of Mary's ex-boyfriend. They have a close relationship. The man gets a call from his daughter saying that their mother is in the hospital and he has to come home right away. He leaves to go be with her. Mary gets a call from her husband who asks why she left without saying goodbye. She decides it's finally time for her to tell him what happened, while she is at work she calls him while pretending to be the nurse on call, getting advice for someone else on how they should handle telling their loved one they are pregnant but it's not theirs. Mary is driving home with her husband and the two of them talk out everything and they finally reconcile and they decide to adopt a baby. They go back to Oregon and tell all their friends and family what happened. Mary's husband admits that he suspected she wasn't pregnant but was trying not to think about it because he didn't want to deal with the reality of his wife having an affair. The film ends with Mary finding out that she is, in fact, pregnant after all, as shown at the beginning of the film.
The film was released on March 15, 2014 in Los Angeles, California. On April 4th, there will be a screening at Virginia Commonwealth University Center for Health Education & Promotion.
